En esta ocasión, para trabajar el tema sobre las plantas, el alumnado de 4º de primaria ha elaborado una bonita guía con información de algunos de los árboles, arbustos y flores que podemos encontrar en nuestra provincia. Geólogos/as famosos/as

Durante la sesión de ayer, los alumnos/as de 4o de primaria estuvieron conociendo datos muy interesantes acerca de los geólogos y geólogas más famosos/as de la historia, aprendiendo a valorar la importancia de sus descubrimientos para la ciencia: volcanes, movimiento de continentes, geografía, mapas del suelo marino, capas de la geosfera... Todo esto con ayuda de las nuevas tecnologías, ¡por supuesto!

Information about the town and/or neighborhood		Our school is small, with just one class for every grade (from pre-primary 5 years old to 6th grade). Families in the nearby neighborhood work in the countryside, or in shops and services in the town. They are highly involved in their children´s education. Getting to school		Walking is most typical and very easy way when you live in the town. Some auxs may choose to live outside of town, in which case buying a car or car-pooling might be possible. (Sidenote from a former aux: I lived a three minute walk from the school and found this to be the easiest and most enjoyable way.)
Accommodation		As Priego is a smaller town, anywhere you live will be in easy walking distance to La Virgen de la Cabeza school. Most flats are furnished and fairly priced. Sharing a flat with another aux also decreases the cost of living. I found my apartment on a website called Idealista.
Contact with other Language Assistants		At the beginning of the year course, the bilingual coordinators exchange the emails of the language assistants so they can keep in touch. Anyway, once the coordinators get to know the new language assistant in the school, we share the email of the former language assistant too, if necessary. Also you attend a large meeting where you are likely to meet other language assistants, and Priego is really small so you end up recognizing each other around town.

LETTER FROM STANA (LANGUAGE ASSISTANT 21/22)	Hello! My name is Stana, I was the aux at La Virgen de la Cabeza for the 2021-2022 school year. I hope you had an easy time getting here (the bus schedule can be a little difficult to get the hang of) and have seen a little bit of the town already! Priego is so beautiful and is full of kind people who want to help you become a part of their community. It was a little over-whelming for me to move to another country and a town that felt isolated, but I am so grateful to have lived here. I won't spoil all the fun of getting to know it in your own time, but there are a few of my favorite parts I'd like to share. First, the best grocery store in town is the Mercadona. Excellent selection, fair prices, very central location. But the Día has parmigian and some American imports like Ben&Jerry's and cereals. The only store that has sriracha is the Mas y Mas. I'm not sure where you're from or what creature comforts you crave, but about a month into being here I craved Frosted Flakes to the point of tears. I don't even eat Frosted Flakes when I'm in the US, I can't explain it. That being said, the fruterías are the best places for fresh fruits and veggies. Calle Rio has some very fun places to get drinks and socialize. I'm a big fan of Gadabout (which very recently opened), Zyrah (try the tarta de queso!), and Dulce's (excellent wine, beer, and an extensive tea selection). Museum is a discoteca on the weekends and a lot of people come from nearby towns to go there and other places in Priego. My best advice is try to find someone who knows when there's going to be a good DJ there. For coffee fans, you can't go wrong with any of the cafeterías in town, but my personal favorites are Miguelín (which also has generous tapas in the afternoon) near the Mercadona and El Águila in the center of town. For churros, absolutely try Boca Mas, the owner and staff are very kind and I've always left smiling. Take your time exploring the parks and walks around town! The sights are breath-taking. Go to la Ermita del Calvario–it's just a short walk from the school and I often went there on my breaks. There are very popular walking paths that take you into the countryside there. I also must say, appreciate all the drinking fountains. Every time I left Priego I found myself missing how convenient and abundant they are. Speaking of leaving Priego, the bus station has a schedule of the busses going to Córdoba and Granada. But Blablacar is by far the most pleasant way to get in and out of Priego if you don't have a car. If you haven't used it before, it's kind of like a hitchhiking app. Always message the driver before booking because there are sometimes scams, but they're usually very obvious because they ask for money outside of the app so you can easily avoid them. Welcome to Priego de Córdoba and La Virgen de la Cabeza! I quickly fell in love with this town, and I'm sure you will too. It's different than anywhere else I've ever lived, but it has (almost) everything you need. La Virgen de la Cabeza is an excellent school with very friendly teachers and sweet kids, but I'm sure you'll find that out for yourself very quickly. Good luck and have a great year! Food and nutrients.

 Durante este tema, los alumnos/as de 3º de primaria de nuestro cole han estado conociendo más cosas acerca de los alimentos de tomamos cada día, y de los nutrientes que nos aportan estos alimentos. Para ello hemos realizado multitud de actividades: hemos analizado etiquetas, hemos trabajado con Stana (nuestra Auxiliar de Conversación, hemos creado un librito con los órganos más importantes del aparato digestivo), e incluso estamos realizando un recetario de clase con comidas típicas de la dieta mediterránea.

Plan Igualdad: Día de los Derechos de Niños y Niñas y Día Internacional contra la Violencia de Género.

En estos días estamos conmemorando dos fechas importantes, el 20 de Noviembre, Día de los Derechos de Niños y Niñas y el 25 de noviembre, Día Internacional contra la Violencia de Género. 

Sabemos que un par de días no son suficientes para trabajar aspectos tan importantes, pero pretendemos que sean el impulso que necesitamos para tomar conciencia y así, gestarse en el día a día de cada ser humano, desde lo sencillo y lo cotidiano. 

Por eso, desde el Plan de igualdad, queremos dar la vuelta a las actividades que hacemos siempre en las que sólo se condena el mal trato, nuestra propuesta será que hablemos, practiquemos e interioricemos el Buen Trato para todo el año, pero la escuela no puede sola: ¡Hagamos un trato! Aspiremos a ser mejores personas y luchemos por una mejor calidad de vida construyendo la comunidad educativa del Buen Trato. 

Por todo ello, os presentamos nuestro Concurso de cortos y fotos.

Bajo el lema en positivo YO TRATO CON EL BUEN TRATO, se trabajarán valores necesarios para la convivencia y el respeto entre las personas ya que está es la mejor forma de eliminar conductas violentas.

Para trasladar nuestro mensaje al barrio hemos colgado en el balcón un gran cartel: YO DIGO SÍ AL BUEN TRATO, animando así a las familias a participar. 

 

Aunque este año no podemos realizar actividades a nivel de centro, eso no significa que no podamos realizar ninguna actividad unidos, el viernes 20 vamos a escuchar y cantar la misma canción en el mismo momento, pero cada uno desde su clase:

En clase además estamos realizando actividades para detectar y reflexionar sobre los malos tratos, tanto agresiones físicas como verbales, así como para crear un decálogo del Buen Trato, aumentar la autoestima, etc.

 

OS DEJAMOS AQUÍ LAS BASES DEL CONCURSO:

1. Participantes: Dirigido a toda la comunidad educativa. 

2. Temática: Debe representar momentos o situaciones en las que nos portamos bien con los demás, con los animales, o tratamos bien nuestro entorno.

3. Obras: Cada participante podrá presentar un máximo de 3 obras, bien sean vídeos o fotos. La duración de los vídeos no podrá superar los 40 segundos (puede utilizarse la app tiktok). 

Cada participante deberá presentar una autorización firmada por su padre o madre en la que se autorice a la utilización de las imágenes por parte del centro para fines educativos.

4. Presentación: Las  fotos y vídeos deben enviarse a los tutores antes de las 14h del día 9 de Diciembre.

5. Premios: Entre todas las fotos y vídeos participantes se elegirá uno por grupo.

6. El jurado estará compuesto por un miembro del equipo directivo, un maestro/a, la coordinadora de igualdad. Además en cada clase se podría proponer algún sistema de votación entre el alumnado (no por ello será el definitivo).

Hace unas semanas, en pleno confinamiento, se celebró el Día del Libro, y no pudimos pasar la oportunidad de trabajarlo desde casa. A continuación os mostramos algunos de los marcapáginas creados por los niños/as del centro para celebrar ese día tan especial.
